Maye Abou El Hassan

Maye has been working in the counselling field for over 10 years dealing with psychological, developmental and physical concerns as well as all age groups. She completed her Honors B.A in Psychology as well as a Certificate in Rehabilitation Services at York University, Toronto. Maye is currently completing the internship component of her M.A in Counselling Psychology.

Maye believes in the importance of respecting cultural diversity and has worked with various cultural backgrounds both in Canada and Kuwait, Middle East. During her 3 years of employment in Kuwait, Maye has created and developed the psychology and counselling department in a school catering to children with autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and ADHD.

She also provided training for parents to educate them about effective parenting techniques. With her cultural sensitivity, Maye looks forward to understanding your issues from your personal cultural lens and assisting you to find solutions that meet your own personalized needs. Finally, Maye believes that “when there is a will, there is always a way!!” 🙂
